Lead Operations Specialist

Salary: $27.65–$39.50 per hour

What you will do

• Support day-to-day branch operations, safety performance, operational practices, financial productivity, and branch performance metrics.
• Support inside and outside sales by coordinating order fulfillment and responding to customer inquiries.
• Resolve customer service issues, track open sales orders, and maintain product and operational knowledge.
• Procure and maintain inventory while monitoring inventory turns and availability.
• Coordinate dedicated delivery processes and carrier services while supporting compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
• Train and mentor associates, provide operational guidance, and support the Branch Operations Manager when needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Generally 5–7 years of experience in a related area; experience in warehouse or distribution center facilities is preferred.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment, modify processes, and provide operational guidance with limited supervision.
• Experience with customer service, sales support, inventory, delivery operations, or branch performance is relevant.
• Must pass pre-employment assessment(s), if applicable.
• Overnight travel may be required for less than 10% of working time.

Nice to have

• Technical certification or an associate degree.
• Consultative selling or solution selling experience.
• Business-to-business sales experience.
• Sales experience in a similar industry or with Core & Main product lines.
