Mail Services Lead Specialist

Location: Richmond, VA, United States; onsite at the client location five days a week

Salary: $18.75–$22.00 per hour

What you will do

• Lead daily inbound and outbound mail, parcel, shipping, receiving, and interoffice distribution activities.
• Coordinate workflows, prioritize services, and meet or exceed service-level agreements.
• Track incoming and outgoing items, prepare deliveries, and manage mailroom records and inventory.
• Operate and troubleshoot postage meters, scanners, digital mail systems, and package tracking software.
• Provide informal training and instructional leadership to Mail and Parcel Associates.
• Support customers and vendors, recommend shipping options, and escalate critical service issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• At least two years of customer service or operations experience.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and mail tracking software.
• Strong organizational, time management, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of confidentiality, safety, document control, and client operating procedures.
• Ability to work onsite at the client location in Richmond, VA five days per week.

Nice to have

• At least one year of lead experience.
• Familiarity with USPS and commercial carriers such as UPS, hirify.global, and DHL.
• Experience using postage meters, envelope openers, barcode scanners, or other mailroom equipment.
