TL;DR
UX Accessibility Lead (Medical Devices) (Android/iOS, Medical Devices): Leading strategic and tactical UX initiatives for Omnipod mobile applications and connected product experiences with an accent on accessibility, safety, usability, and regulatory-aligned design. Focus on defining scalable design systems, testing concepts with User Research and Human Factors, and coordinating complex cross-functional programs across clinical, technical, and product teams.

Location: Hybrid, with on-site work required at an hirify.global office in Acton, Massachusetts or San Diego, California. Ongoing U.S. travel is required at least once per quarter.

Annual base salary: $156,600–$234,900, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

  • Lead strategic, tactical, and innovation UX initiatives for Omnipod Android and iOS applications, web interfaces, and connected product experiences.
  • Define safe, effective, accessible, and engaging user experiences through wireframes, prototypes, visual assets, and GUI specifications.
  • Coordinate with product, software, marketing, systems, clinical, regulatory, compliance, legal, and technical integration partners.
  • Partner with User Research and Human Factors teams to test concepts and apply user-centered design practices.
  • Develop UX design language, standards, frameworks, and scalable experiences across mobile, web, product, integrations, and wearables.
  • Lead multifunctional programs, communicate design vision to stakeholders and executives, mentor junior UX staff, and promote UX practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in HCI, design, psychology, computer science, human factors, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant UX and product design experience, including at least 5 years in an agile development environment.
  • Expertise in UX and development tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, Creative Cloud, Framer, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Strong knowledge of usability standards, design heuristics, responsive design, and Android and iOS UI guidelines.
  • Experience delivering mobile UX for consumer products or medical devices, with a strong portfolio and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with clinical, Human Factors, regulatory, compliance, legal, research, and software development teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SAFe agile, prototyping, medical devices, consumer wearables, or diabetes-related products.
  • Thorough knowledge of the diabetes disease state.
