Principal UX/UI Designer (IoT)

Salary: $185,000–$277,600 annual base pay across the US

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end user experience from problem framing and concept exploration through high-fidelity design and production handoff.
• Define the design language, component library, design system, and interaction patterns across the product portfolio.
• Lead discovery and design strategy for ambiguous, high-stakes product problems using business objectives and user research.
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering leadership to shape roadmaps, scope, technical trade-offs, and feature details.
• Plan and interpret user research and usability testing, using qualitative and quantitative signals to validate design decisions.
• Advise executive leadership on design maturity and UX priorities, resolve systemic UX debt, and mentor engineers and product managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15+ years of professional UX/UI or product design experience, including 3+ years at Staff, Principal, or an equivalent senior individual-contributor level.
• Portfolio demonstrating shipped, end-to-end work on complex B2B enterprise products for browser and mobile experiences.
• Experience designing products from zero to MVP and owning a design system at scale, including governance, adoption, and contribution models.
• Expertise in interaction design, information architecture, visual design, prototyping, and Figma.
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence product strategy without formal authority.
