Director, Licensing Support Patents (Video Compression)

What you will do

• Participate in patent licensing and litigation assertion projects involving video services, streaming, handsets, tablets, and consumer electronics.
• Lead or participate in patent technical discussions with prospective licensees.
• Develop and review patent claim charts, technical presentations, and evidence based on video codec standards and specifications.
• Develop patent assertion strategies with the licensing negotiation team and create customer-specific licensing materials.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers and prosecution teams to strengthen the video codec patent portfolio.
• Support patent enforcement, patent acquisition evaluations, and technical review projects.

Requirements

• Expertise in video compression technologies and video codecs, including H.265, H.266, AV1, AV2, or VP9.
• US/EP patent attorney qualification.
• Extensive experience developing, reviewing, presenting, and defending patent claim charts for licensing negotiations and patent litigation.
• Strong understanding of licensing-focused patent prosecution or portfolio development.
• Strong collaboration, communication, prioritization, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for approximately 10% of the time.
