Sr. Agency Management Specialist - Remote in the Chicago Area

Location: Remote in the Chicago area, Illinois, United States; travel by car within the territory represents approximately 40–50% of the role.

Salary: USD $111,000–$151,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage relationships between Selective, agents, regional underwriting teams, claims teams, and corporate departments.
• Develop a profitable agency force and monitor agency growth, profitability, policy count, compliance, and share of wallet.
• Apply underwriting decisions and pricing philosophies while promoting Selective products, policies, procedures, services, and internal systems.
• Conduct underwriting, sales, and information technology training for agents and their staff, and mentor lower-level Agency Management Specialists.
• Perform inspections, recommend risk improvements or corrective actions, and document follow-up activities.
• Audit agents’ One & Done books of business and provide quality assurance feedback.

Requirements

• Seasoned Agency Management Specialist with a proven record of establishing, prioritizing, and achieving business goals.
• Superior communication, negotiation, presentation, organizational, and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to work independently from a remote location and use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internal business software effectively.
• College degree preferred, with 6+ years of underwriting, marketing, or field underwriting experience.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile.
• Preferred experience includes 4 years in agency management or rating and 3 years in claims or loss-control inspections.
