Coordinating Editor - Politics, MS NOW Digital

Location: Washington, D.C.; willingness to work in Washington, D.C. is required. Regular schedule is 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility as breaking news demands. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required.

Salary: $115,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Identify distinctive political storylines and drive original reporting and scoops for MS NOW Digital.
• Coordinate coverage with the D.C. bureau and breaking news teams.
• Help lead live blog coverage and support reporting on the 2028 presidential campaign.
• Edit and occasionally write breaking news and enterprise articles during evening coverage.
• Collaborate with editorial and platform teams to improve reader engagement.
• Maintain the homepage and support headlines, push alerts, and newsletter production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 8+ years of newsroom experience and 8+ years in a strictly digital publication.
• Experience as an assignment editor or in a comparable political news editing role.
• Experience working in breaking news and political news.
• Ability to edit quickly and accurately with strong writing skills and sound news judgment.
• Willingness to work in Washington, D.C. and unrestricted U.S. work authorization.
