Editor, Healthcare Dive (Healthcare)

Location: 605 Third Avenue, New York, United States; in-person work three days a week or more, with flexibility to work from home or remotely at other times.

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Identify, edit, and write daily healthcare news stories and in-depth features.
• Cover insurers, hospitals, health IT, digital transformation, healthcare policy, and industry economics.
• Develop breaking news briefs, trend analyses, and other story formats.
• Plan and execute large editorial projects and innovative storytelling or data visualization initiatives.
• Cultivate sources, pitch stories, and report on complex healthcare subjects.
• Assign and edit freelance work while providing feedback.

Requirements

• At least three years of journalism or related experience.
• At least one year of experience covering healthcare, health insurers, hospitals, digital health technology, or relevant life sciences industries.
• Demonstrated editing, writing, and reporting experience across breaking news, briefs, and long-form stories.
• Strong time management, deadline management, project management, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to analyze trends, data, economic forces, and earnings reports for business audiences.
• Familiarity with daily email newsletters and building relationships with sources.
