Senior Reporter (PharmaVoice)

Location: Washington, DC, United States. This role is based in the office and requires in-person work three days a week or more, with flexibility to work from home or remotely at other times.

Salary: $80,000–$94,000 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Report enterprise stories, in-depth features, and quick-turn news about the biopharma and biotech industries.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, experts, and newsmakers.
• Attend industry events, conduct interviews, and gather insights for editorial coverage.
• Own assigned beats through original reporting and source development.
• Collaborate on larger editorial projects and daily newsroom planning.
• Edit copy daily for clarity, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with editorial standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of journalism experience, including at least 3 years covering pharma or life sciences.
• Demonstrated success reporting and writing about the business of pharmaceuticals.
• Strong understanding of commercialization, drug research and development, regulatory trends, policy, AI in pharma and biotech, and global industry dynamics.
• Ability to analyze clinical trial data, scientific research, policy changes, earnings reports, and industry trends.
• Experience writing engaging web headlines and editing copy for clarity and accuracy.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Journalism, English, or a related field.
