Sr. Chief Engineer

Location: Santa Ana, California, USA; onsite role with approximately 10% travel based on business needs.

Salary: $110,500–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead engineering and maintenance operations across a six-building, 700,000-square-foot campus.
• Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire/life safety, building automation, and other critical building systems.
• Direct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, inspections, work orders, CMMS operations, and equipment lifecycle planning.
• Lead capital planning and major infrastructure projects, including budgeting, bidding, contractor selection, commissioning, and closeout.
• Manage vendors, contractors, procurement activities, operating expenses, capital expenses, and technical scopes of work.
• Advise property management and clients while driving safety, compliance, sustainability, energy efficiency, and operational improvements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in building engineering, facilities operations, maintenance, or related technical fields.
• Experience leading engineering operations and managing personnel in large commercial properties, campuses, or multi-building environments.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire/life safety, and building automation systems.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance, CMMS platforms, capital planning, major equipment replacement, budgets, vendors, contractors, and procurement.
• High school diploma, GED, trade school, technical school, or vocational school required.
• Applicable OSHA and safety certifications, highest-level jurisdiction-required engineering or HVAC/mechanical licenses, and Universal Refrigerant Certification where required.
