Industrial Engineering Lead (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Toledo, Ohio, United States; full-time reporting to the Toledo location is required. Relocation assistance may be available.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes, work operations, workstation layouts, routings, and standardized work.
• Lead complex manufacturing problem solving, bottleneck analysis, throughput improvements, line balancing, and waste elimination.
• Manage equipment and plant engineering projects, including budgets, expenditures, production trials, and change management.
• Implement lean manufacturing practices and GM’s Global Manufacturing System, including training and coaching production teams.
• Provide technical direction to vendors and less experienced industrial engineers while coordinating with production, finance, and manufacturing engineering.
• Lead people-management activities for direct reports, including goal setting, performance reviews, coaching, compensation planning, and development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering or Plant Industrial Engineering experience.
• Ability to design safe, high-quality, and efficient work operations and apply standardized work, assembly line balancing, simulations, man-machine charts, indirect labor studies, purchasing planning, financial tracking, and throughput improvement methods.
• Experience with time studies, motion analysis, standard time data, bottleneck evaluation, and productivity improvement.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD for workstation layout development.

• Experience in continuous improvement, manufacturing line optimization, project management, and part presentation.
• Experience working across multiple products, processes, and geographically distributed cross-functional teams.
