Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: New York, NY, USA; hybrid schedule requiring a minimum of four days per week in the office

Salary: $140,000–$195,000 yearly, plus bonus and long-term incentive eligibility

What you will do

• Build and lead an inclusive engineering organization responsible for software platforms, data services, APIs, integrations, automation, and operational tooling.
• Set the technical direction for a centralized video intelligence platform integrating operational, telemetry, scheduling, monitoring, and performance data.
• Lead the design of scalable systems for ingesting, processing, normalizing, correlating, storing, and serving high-volume operational data.
• Establish architecture and engineering standards for streaming pipelines, event-driven systems, APIs, data lakes, observability, testing, security, and operational readiness.
• Guide intelligence capabilities such as anomaly detection, event correlation, intelligent alerting, automated triage, root-cause analysis, and predictive insights.
• Partner with Product, Operations, Architecture, Data Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, and Video Engineering teams while hiring, coaching, and developing engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including senior or technical leadership experience.
• Experience managing engineering teams responsible for complex, production-scale systems.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native application design.
• Experience with data platforms, data lakes, ETL/ELT, batch processing, real-time streaming, Kafka or equivalent platforms, and high-volume telemetry or operational data.
• Experience with cloud platforms, observability, API architecture, data modeling, governance, reliability, scalability, and operational readiness.
• Ability to work from the New York office at least four days per week under the current hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or equivalent technologies.
• Familiarity with machine learning, AI/LLM architectures, vector databases, RAG, AI agents, or intelligent automation.
• Knowledge of video streaming technologies such as HLS, MPEG-DASH, encoding/transcoding, CDN delivery, playback telemetry, and video quality metrics.
