Project Engineer (BESS)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; travel throughout the EMEA region is required as needed for project execution, customer meetings, site activities, and stakeholder engagement.

What you will do

• Coordinate engineering activities for battery energy storage system and power infrastructure projects across EMEA.
• Manage external engineering firms, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal civil, electrical, network, and permitting teams.
• Lead design reviews and verify deliverables against project specifications, contracts, quality standards, constructability requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Support procurement by preparing technical specifications, reviewing vendor documentation, and assessing technical proposals.
• Provide technical leadership, manage escalations, and coordinate resolution of engineering issues during project execution.
• Support safety initiatives and improve engineering processes, project execution methods, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in engineering, project engineering, or project execution within power, renewable energy, battery storage, or utility sectors.
• Experience with utility-scale power systems, photovoltaic plants, battery energy storage systems, or related infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of EPC project execution, electrical codes, industry standards, and EMEA regulations.
• Experience coordinating stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, with strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional proficiency in English is required.
