Investment Manager, Strategic Asset Development (Insurance Investments)

What you will do

• Support strategically important investment and business development initiatives across the Investments team.
• Develop new asset classes and alternative asset-sourcing channels.
• Originate and evaluate investment opportunities beyond established sourcing routes.
• Lead due diligence across asset modelling, risk-return, capital, matching adjustment, P&L, ALM, and hedging considerations.
• Assess portfolio fit and manage relationships with external asset managers.
• Coordinate with Portfolio Management, ALM, Capital, Risk, and wider stakeholders, including handover of completed projects to operational teams.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of the UK insurance sector and its investment considerations.
• Understanding and ideally experience using regulatory developments such as Highly Predictable assets and the MA Investment Accelerator.
• Broad understanding of fixed-income investments across different asset classes.
• Experience originating and evaluating investments for UK insurers.
• Strong analytical judgement, project management skills, and experience managing senior stakeholders.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical subjects to varied audiences.

Nice to have

• Numerate, actuarial, or investment qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
