Finance Director (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: East Syracuse, New York, United States. Onsite role at hirify.global's U.S. headquarters; paid relocation is available.

Salary: $165,700–$223,800 per year

What you will do

• Lead the Surveillance division's finance organization, including workforce planning, talent development, performance management, and succession planning.
• Advise the division general manager and senior leadership on financial performance, risks, investments, opportunities, and trade-offs.
• Own annual budgeting, five-year business planning, quarterly forecasting, performance metrics, profitability, cash flow, and working capital management.
• Oversee financial reporting, monthly and quarterly close, controllership, governance, capital allocation, and finance systems improvement.
• Lead costing and pricing for U.S. Government and commercial proposals, including forward pricing rate submissions and financial risk assessment.
• Support government audits, business-system reviews, compliance inquiries, intercompany controls, and regulatory reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, business management, analytics, or consulting, including substantial leadership experience.
• Experience leading finance, accounting, business management, or multidisciplinary analytics teams.
• Broad expertise in financial planning, performance management, controllership, reporting, investment analysis, and executive decision support.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial controls, data analytics, and finance transformation.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for access to classified information; willingness to travel domestically and internationally is required.

Nice to have

• MBA, CPA, CMA, or another advanced degree or professional certification.
• Experience in aerospace and defense, U.S. Government contracting, or a regulated technology organization.
• Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, DCAA/DCMA audits, forward pricing rates, and government proposals.
• Experience with ERP, enterprise planning, business intelligence, data governance, automation, or AI-enabled finance initiatives.
• Experience with IFRS, multinational reporting, intercompany transactions, or transfer pricing.
