Maintenance and Reliability Manager (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: United States of America, Kansas (Remote); the role is based at the Fort Scott, Kansas site and includes occasional production-floor work, rotating shifts, and some weekend hours.

Salary: $93,530–$137,181 per year, plus discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead maintenance, reliability, and asset management functions across a chemical manufacturing plant.
• Develop multi-year maintenance strategies, governance standards, operating budgets, and capital plans.
• Implement reliability programs including RCM, FMEA, predictive maintenance, RCA, and condition monitoring.
• Oversee planning, scheduling, CMMS/EAM data quality, emergency repairs, shutdowns, turnarounds, and contractor work.
• Lead mechanical integrity and PSM activities, including inspections, testing, MOC, PSSR, PHA/HAZOP action closure, and documentation.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and Quality on capital projects, compliance, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, coatings, or regulated manufacturing with direct plant leadership.
• At least 5 years managing multi-disciplinary maintenance teams.
• Experience with PSM-regulated processes, mechanical integrity programs, CMMS/EAM platforms, and reliability improvement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems used in chemical processing.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NEC, NFPA, maintenance safety standards, RCA, RCM, continuous improvement, budgeting, and capital planning.
