TL;DR
Director - Industrial Engineering (Distribution Facilities): Designing and optimizing distribution facilities, labor standards, workflows, and process solutions to improve capacity, throughput, space utilization, and labor efficiency across the U.S., Canada, and the broader global network with an accent on facility layouts, engineered labor standards, WMS/LMS impacts, and activity-level productivity modeling. Focus on evaluating existing facilities, creating scalable designs, reading facility drawings, developing CAD-based layouts, and translating engineering recommendations into operational and executive outcomes.

Location: Remote within the United States; based in or associated with Lewisville, Texas. Travel required 25%–50%.

Salary: $139,693–$244,463 annually

What you will do

  • Own the creation, governance, and maintenance of engineered labor standards across segment processes.
  • Lead facility layout, workflow engineering, and process design to optimize throughput, capacity, space utilization, and labor efficiency.
  • Evaluate existing facilities and recommend layouts, racking, equipment, and process-flow solutions before expansion.
  • Create scalable designs for new facilities, retrofits, and expansions across the U.S., Canada, and the broader global network.
  • Partner with IT, Operations, Automation, Analytics, and Lean teams to model WMS changes, validate performance, and connect labor standards to network KPIs.
  • Review facility drawings and data, support design projects with contractors and stakeholders, and supervise, coach, recruit, and mentor engineering staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of progressive fulfillment industrial engineering or operations engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise in engineered labor standards, time studies, activity-level productivity modeling, and labor management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and optimizing large-scale distribution, fulfillment, or manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience reading facility drawings and using CAD or similar facility-design tools to create or modify basic layouts.
  • Previous experience directly managing and developing engineering professionals, with strong project, stakeholder, and executive influence skills.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement experience.
