Senior Workday Platform Architect (Workday)

Location: New York, NY, United States

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year, excluding equity or variable compensation where applicable.

What you will do

• Own the Workday platform across configuration, security, business processes, reporting, integrations, data quality, and system administration.
• Define and implement scalable Workday architecture, governance, documentation, change management, testing standards, and release processes.
• Design, configure, test, and deploy solutions across Core HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Performance, Talent, and Payroll.
• Build and maintain reports, dashboards, calculated fields, and analytics for data-driven decision-making.
• Oversee integrations with payroll, benefits, identity management, finance, recruiting, and other enterprise systems.
• Maintain security, audit readiness, data integrity, documentation, vendor relationships, and stakeholder support.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of hands-on Workday experience in a large, complex, or global organization.
• Deep Core HCM experience and hands-on exposure to several additional Workday modules.
• Strong knowledge of Workday security, business-process configuration, reporting, calculated fields, data management, and integrations.
• Understanding of HR operations, payroll processes, compliance requirements, and controls for sensitive employee data.
• Ability to improve established Workday environments while balancing immediate needs with long-term scalability and maintainability.
• Strong stakeholder communication, organization, judgment, and ownership in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting Workday across multiple countries, legal entities, employee populations, or business units.
• Experience maturing Workday governance, architecture, documentation, security, or release management.
• Advanced Workday reporting and analytics experience.
• Experience with EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, APIs, or Workday Extend.
• Workday certifications or experience with major implementations, module expansions, acquisitions, reorganizations, or large-scale transformations.
