Workday Systems Payroll-HCM Manager

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York, NY; or Seattle, WA, United States

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 in New York and San Francisco; $153,000–$180,000 in Seattle

What you will do

• Own the configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance of the Workday Payroll module.
• Design scalable integrations across Core HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, and Benefits.
• Act as the primary liaison between Payroll and People teams, translating business needs into Workday configuration.
• Lead payroll-impact analysis, regression testing, validation, and release deployment.
• Resolve escalated payroll configuration issues and partner with Payroll Operations on root-cause analysis.
• Maintain configuration documentation and governance practices for auditable, consistent payroll setup.

Requirements

• 6–8+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll configuration experience.
• Strong Core HCM experience with organizations, staffing, and business process configuration.
• Knowledge of earnings, deductions, tax setup, and pay calculations.
• Experience translating HR and People team requirements into technical system configuration.
• Experience managing testing, validation, release cycles, and configuration changes.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; hirify.global uses E-Verify for employment authorization.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Workday Time Tracking or Absence Management configuration experience.
• Exposure to Workday integrations, including EIB and Core Connectors.
