IT Manager (Databricks/Data Engineering)

Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States. US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Salary: $108,800–$226,800 per year, with eligibility for the annual incentive plan.

What you will do

• Manage one or more IT and data engineering teams, balancing workload, priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
• Lead the design, build, and delivery of data platform components using Databricks and a medallion architecture across Raw, Refined, and Presentation layers.
• Track team delivery, project status, key metrics, and deviations, reporting updates to senior management.
• Represent data engineering teams with stakeholders, customers, and internal delivery teams.
• Recruit, develop, retain, coach, and mentor employees, including offshore resources.
• Establish team operating standards, measure team health, and manage performance reviews, promotions, raises, and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of experience in software development, infrastructure, or project delivery, including data engineering or data platform work.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and medallion architecture.
• Practical experience applying AI or machine learning technologies to data engineering or data platform problems.
• Knowledge of ETL tools, design best practices, and agile software development methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• US work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not provided.
