Principal Design Researcher (UX)

Location: Onsite at 2101 Se Simple Savings Dr, Bentonville, Arkansas, United States

Salary: $110,000–$220,000 annual base salary, plus annual or quarterly performance bonuses and possible Regional Pay Zone compensation.

What you will do

• Lead design research initiatives identifying customer needs and business challenges to improve products and processes.
• Develop and execute qualitative and quantitative research using user interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability testing.
• Analyze and synthesize data into actionable insights, journey maps, service blueprints, presentations, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary stakeholders to align research outcomes with business objectives and improve customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder communication, and consensus-building around research goals and opportunity areas.
• Coach researchers and cross-functional partners on research quality, strategic thinking, and impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or a related field, plus 5 years of relevant experience; alternatively, 7 years of relevant experience without the degree requirement.
• Extensive experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Leadership experience managing research projects and influencing partners across business units.
• Strong ability to synthesize multiple data sources, connect research to ROI and business KPIs, and translate findings into design decisions.
• Systems thinking and human-centered design skills across interconnected channels, teams, processes, and touchpoints.
• Must work at the Bentonville, Arkansas, United States location. Vaccination compliance or an approved medical or religious accommodation may be required as permitted by law.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in UI/UX design, interactive and visual design, product design, or a related field.
• Experience driving product development in design research, market research, business analysis, or UX design research.
• Retail, supply chain, ecommerce, healthcare, or related industry experience.
• Research or design certification.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and inclusive digital experience design.
