User Experience Researcher, Platform (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; or Seattle, WA. Hybrid policy: staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

Annual salary: $305,000–$385,000 USD.

What you will do

• Set the research agenda for Anthropic’s Platform organization in partnership with platform leaders and product teams.
• Design, conduct, and report end-to-end research using qualitative and quantitative methods.
• Study developers, product-building teams and companies, administrators, and buyers using Claude’s API, SDKs, agent and connector infrastructure, Console, and documentation.
• Communicate findings to product managers, designers, and engineers and connect research insights to product and strategy decisions.
• Build research tools and infrastructure, using Claude and creating methods suited to rapidly evolving platform products.

Requirements

• Industry UX research experience independently scoping, designing, running, and reporting end-to-end studies.
• Expertise in mixed methods, including interviewing technical users and rigorously designing and analyzing surveys.
• Technical background through software engineering, developer-experience research on APIs, SDKs, or developer tools, or research on deeply technical products.
• Ability to read technical documentation, build a small platform project, and collaborate effectively with highly technical teams.
• Hands-on use of AI for research analysis and tooling.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of industry UX research experience.
• Experience setting research strategy and influencing product or organizational direction.
• Experience working with fast-moving, engineering-led teams and senior organizational stakeholders.
• Experience building with AI, coding tools, and agents, or researching pricing and packaging for usage-based or developer products.
• Background in API ecosystem or developer-platform research.
