Electrical Engineer

Location: Hanover, NH, United States; onsite role with up to 10% travel

Salary: $82,636–$137,731 annual base pay

What you will do

• Develop expertise in electrical subsystems for plasma and water jet cutting systems, CNC equipment, and torch height control systems.
• Implement sustaining engineering changes for released products and manage alternate components affected by obsolescence or availability issues.
• Lead cost-saving and product-improvement initiatives, including design changes, verification, and validation testing.
• Analyze technical documentation and test data against functional and performance specifications.
• Ensure products remain compliant with regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with procurement, engineering, PCB design, laboratory technicians, manufacturing, and quality teams while coordinating project timelines.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and 0–5 years of electrical design experience with highly technical industrial products.
• Foundational knowledge in at least two of digital, analog, power, or test development, with a willingness to learn across all areas.
• Understanding of hardware engineering principles, design tools, defect tracking, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, component datasheets, and construction drawings.
• Ability to apply statistical methods, FMEA, DfMA, structured problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Power supply design experience with inverter, buck, or boost topologies.
• Experience with inverter-based power conversion circuits and embedded systems using microcontrollers and serial interfaces.
• Knowledge of reliability design, UL/UL508, CSA, IEC, NFPA, and industrial electromagnetic interference mitigation.
• Project management experience or certification.
