Principal Aeronautical Engineer (Aerial Networks)

Location: Hanscom AFB, Bedford, Massachusetts; onsite role

Salary: $155,000–$165,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Provide expert aeronautical engineering advice to government leadership and support the Aerial Networks Division.
• Analyze avionics systems, subsystems, aircraft technologies, system feasibility, threats, interfaces, communications buses, and defensive sensors.
• Develop and review system requirements, subsystem specifications, acquisition documentation, RFP materials, and technical evaluations.
• Support aircraft research, development, production, modernization, integration, testing, deployment, and lifecycle sustainment.
• Advise on tactical data links, airborne network architectures, communications and operational security policies, and aircraft survivability capabilities.
• Lead complex projects, support risk management and airworthiness certification activities, and present findings to senior military and program leadership.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Active and maintainable TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Advanced degree and 15 years of relevant engineering or technical experience, including 10 years in the Department of Defense; or a bachelor's degree and 20 years of relevant experience, including 10 years in the Department of Defense.
• Expert knowledge of aeronautical engineering, avionics, aircraft systems, defense acquisition, and engineering standards and practices.
• Experience with Air Reserve Component air dominance platforms, tactical data links, aerial networks, aircraft modernization, and high-visibility aircraft programs.
• Leadership, strategic planning, briefing, project management, team-building, and mentoring experience.
