Location: Hawthorne, California; hybrid workplace
Salary: $100,000–$230,000 per year

designs and builds lunar rovers, power systems, and data networks for sustained operations on the Moon.
What you will do
- Define vehicle-level avionics and electrical architectures covering power distribution, grounding, data networks, and harnessing.
- Write, flow down, and verify system and component requirements.
- Lead architecture trade studies and sensitivity analyses, collaborating with mechanical, software, and thermal teams.
- Own electrical interfaces, system documentation, test plans, and verification activities.
- Develop and operate hardware-in-the-loop testbeds and support assembly, integration, testing, launch campaigns, and lunar surface operations.
- Troubleshoot failures, support production issue resolution, perform root-cause analysis, and manage avionics system risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field.
- Experience with aerospace component or system development, testing, integration, or operations.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, electronic loads, and multimeters, with the ability to interpret electrical schematics.
- Experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle avionics, requirements engineering, power systems, vehicle networks, or environmental testing is preferred.
- For senior and staff levels, experience leading avionics architecture development, system-level planning, and mentoring engineers is preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience with RS-422, RS-485, CAN, or Ethernet networks.
- HIL testbed development and programming in Python, C, or C++ for test automation.
- FMECA, fault tolerance, failure isolation, and spaceflight electrical component experience.
- Familiarity with SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-810, TVAC, vibration, shock, thermal, burn-in, and EMI/EMC testing.
