System Engineer Support Principal (Cadence)

Location: Hanscom AFB, Bedford, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $170,000–$180,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Develop and refine electronic system schematics, PCB layouts, integrated circuit designs, and firmware using Cadence EDA tools.
• Perform circuit and system simulations, troubleshoot design issues, and verify compliance with Air Force technical specifications.
• Oversee prototype fabrication, hardware and software testing, and documentation for Air Force acceptance.
• Prepare schematics, bills of materials, test plans, user manuals, and other documentation in line with Air Force and DoD standards.
• Integrate new designs into existing Air Force hardware and software platforms and support maintenance, upgrades, and modifications.
• Coordinate with Air Force program managers, contractors, and engineering teams on mission requirements, operational constraints, and contingency deployments.

Requirements

• Must be a US citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Must hold and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with access to SAP.
• Proficiency with Cadence EDA tools, including Allegro, Virtuoso, and Spectre.
• Knowledge of PCB design, analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, and firmware development.
• Understanding of Air Force mission systems and operational requirements.
