EHS Coordinator (Manufacturing)

Location: Downers Grove, Illinois, USA; onsite manufacturing and office environment

Pay rate: $31–$36 per hour

What you will do

• Administer safety programs and support compliance with OSHA, DOT, environmental, and company requirements.
• Coordinate safety training, new-hire onboarding, and ongoing workplace safety initiatives.
• Conduct facility inspections, audits, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
• Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, training documentation, and regulatory reports.
• Monitor injury and incident trends and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with operations, production, HR, maintenance, engineering, employees, and regulatory partners to reduce workplace risks.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in safety, environmental, manufacturing, industrial, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Experience with incident investigations, audits, inspections, root cause analysis, and compliance documentation.
• Strong communication, presentation, employee training, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
• Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing facility, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, occupational health, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
• Experience in food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, or highly regulated production.
• OSHA 30, OSHA 500/501, ASP, GSP, CSP, or CHST certification.
• Knowledge of workers' compensation, environmental compliance, Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
