Environmental Health & Safety Co-Op

Location: 100% onsite in Rockrimmon, Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States

Salary: $20–$30 per hour, depending on overall skills and experience.

What you will do

• Support site Environmental, Health & Safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with regulatory inspections, audits, training sessions, new-hire activities, and proactive safety engagement.
• Participate in incident investigations, identify root causes, and support corrective and preventive action implementation.
• Manage EHS data, documentation, and records.
• Communicate safety-related information and initiatives across the organization.
• Work with employees and leaders at all organizational levels in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
• Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Basic understanding of environmental, health, and safety principles through coursework, projects, or previous experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills, with attention to detail.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Available to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from January through June; able to work onsite, lift 30 pounds, and work near loud environments and chemicals.

Nice to have

• Major or coursework in Environmental Engineering, Safety Science, Environmental Toxicology, Environmental Science, or Chemical Engineering.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaborate across functions.
