Project Engineer Senior/Principal (Power Generation)

Location: On-site in Tulsa, Oklahoma or Columbus, Ohio; open to qualified candidates throughout the AEP footprint. Travel up to 25% outside Ohio within the AEP footprint during construction.

Salary: $110,000–$151,000 per year for Senior and Principal grades. The stated compensation range is $98,993.00–$151,132.50.

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering activities for generation capital projects across the full project lifecycle.
• Develop and manage engineering work plans, design reviews, and responses to Requests for Information.
• Coordinate engineering work among AEP teams, developers, architects and engineers, OEMs, EPC contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Support conceptual and detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
• Lead engineering meetings and provide progress updates to project teams and stakeholders.
• Travel to AEP generation facilities and provide on-site construction support as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or an accepted equivalent combination of engineering education and an ABET-accredited graduate degree.
• Senior level: typically 4+ years of related engineering experience, or 2 years with a relevant master’s degree or PhD.
• Principal level: typically 8+ years of related engineering experience, or 6 years with a relevant master’s degree or PhD.
• Professional Engineer registration is preferred for Senior and Principal levels and is required for Principal unless waived by the organization’s EVP.
• Mechanical engineers and mechanical engineering technologists are preferred, as is experience overseeing multidisciplinary engineering work.
• Ability to work on-site in Tulsa, Oklahoma or Columbus, Ohio and travel up to 25% during construction.
