Lab Technician (Quantum Sensing)

Location: Munich, Germany; full-time, permanent, and lab-based.

hirify.global is a TU Munich spin-off developing commercial quantum sensing tools and Quantum Diamond Microscope systems for three-dimensional current mapping and chip failure analysis.

What you will do

• Prepare, reconfigure, and precisely align experimental setups for measurement series.
• Install samples and diamond quantum sensors, configure measurement parameters, and maintain clean setups.
• Run fluorescence imaging and magnetic field scans with physicists and engineers.
• Evaluate and document measurement data and observations for traceable, reproducible results.
• Maintain optical tables, lasers, microscopes, and RF electronics in calibrated, safe, and ready-to-use condition.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and improve laboratory setups and procedures.

Requirements

• Technical training or equivalent practical experience in areas such as laboratory technology, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or related fields.
• Strong hands-on skills with attention to detail, precision, cleanliness, and reliability.
• Comfort working with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and common laboratory equipment.
• Ability to document work carefully and interpret basic measurement data.
• Proactive approach and comfort working in a dynamic R&D environment.
• Ability to communicate in English or German; English is the working language, and willingness to improve it is sufficient.

Nice to have

• Experience in R&D, prototyping, or instrument-building environments.
• Skills in soldering, precision mechanics, vacuum technology, 3D printing, or basic CAD.
• Experience with optics, lasers, photonics, or laser safety qualification.
• Familiarity with Excel, Python, or Origin for basic data analysis.
