Focus on driving architecture and component decisions, performing hands-on board bring-up and root-cause debugging, and supporting production through vendor collaboration and design-for-manufacturing improvements.

Location: On-site 5 days per week at the Glen Cove, NY factory

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year, plus equity

Company

hirify.global develops AI-powered robotic systems that bring software automation into physical spaces.

What you will do

  • Own the design and validation of PCBAs for motor controllers, power distribution, compute, camera, battery management, and sensing systems from concept through production release.
  • Drive architecture, component selection, requirements definition, trade studies, and technical strategy for robot electronics.
  • Perform schematic capture, multilayer PCB layout, board bring-up, test planning, lab debugging, and root-cause analysis.
  • Lead design reviews and maintain component libraries, release processes, and design checklists.
  • Work with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors, incorporating DFM/DFA feedback and resolving production issues.
  • Mentor associate and mid-level engineers and collaborate with Mechanical, Software, and Functional Safety engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 5+ years of experience designing, building, and testing PCBAs through production release.
  • Deep knowledge of power electronics, including motor drivers, inverter stages, switch-mode supplies, power sequencing, and protection.
  • Strong digital and analog electronics expertise, including MCUs, FPGAs, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, UART, op-amps, filters, ADC/DAC chains, and precision sensing.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer or similar EDA tools for schematic capture and constraint-driven, multilayer PCB layout.
  • Ability to debug hardware using oscilloscopes, logic or protocol analyzers, and bench instruments.
  • Clear technical communication, design documentation, trade studies, design reviews, and effective collaboration in a dynamic environment.

Nice to have

  • High-speed interfaces and power delivery, including PCIe, USB3/4, MIPI, GMSL, and 10G Ethernet, with signal- and power-integrity knowledge.
  • Camera electronics, image sensors, dense or flexible board technologies, and motor control.
  • Embedded programming for DSPs, MCUs, and FPGAs, plus LTspice, Python, and test automation.
  • EMC/EMI compliance, industrial fieldbuses, safety-rated electronics, and relevant functional-safety standards.
  • Prototype-to-volume manufacturing experience, including NPI, DFM/DFT, test fixtures, and yield improvement.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on work in a fully equipped electronics lab with production robots and an adjacent manufacturing floor.
  • Approximately 60% design work and 40% lab, integration, and manufacturing support, with flexibility based on project needs.
  • Paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life and disability insurance, 401(k), and employee stock options for regular full-time employees.
