Senior-Principal Electrical Engineer (Drones)

Location: On-site in Seattle, Washington, United States

Salary: $110,000–$230,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own electrical hardware development from specification and circuit design through prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
• Design flight hardware, test setups, power distribution systems, sensor integrations, and PCB assemblies.
• Establish top-level electrical architectures and implementation methods, and communicate design decisions to stakeholders.
• Analyze and document design and testing results to support data-driven product decisions.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, perception, controls, product design, and manufacturing engineers.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the electrical engineering team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience in electrical engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, and PCB design best practices.
• Experience developing PCBAs for digital embedded systems using MCUs, SoCs, or FPGAs.
• Experience designing power regulation and delivery systems.
• Experience with embedded interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, MIPI, DDR, and PCIe.

Nice to have

• 10+ years designing electronics for aerospace, robotics, automotive, consumer electronics, or related industries.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience developing UAV/UAS electronic systems for commercial, industrial, or defense applications.
• Experience with Xilinx FPGAs and firmware development.
• Experience with signal integrity and power integrity simulations, supply-chain partners, and hardware design for high-shock, vibration, humidity, and thermal environments.
