Systems Engineer (Nuclear Systems)

Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee, United States; 5 days a week in office. Standard schedule is 8:00am–5:00pm ET, Monday–Friday. Travel up to 10% as needed.

Salary: $188,750–$212,500 per year, base salary.

What you will do

• Lead systems engineering lifecycle activities, including stakeholder and operational analysis, requirements decomposition, functional modeling, and logical architecture development.
• Define physical products, manage system interfaces and configuration changes, and coordinate design integration and testing.
• Develop and maintain system behavior models using MBSE tools within PLM frameworks.
• Lead system verification and validation, technical risk assessment, and mitigation planning.
• Support value engineering through cost analysis, economic feasibility assessments, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Set technical direction through discipline roadmaps, best practices, and design criteria while guiding junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Typically 20 years of engineering experience for Level VI; a master’s or Ph.D. may substitute for part of the experience requirement.
• Experience with ISO 15288 lifecycle processes, requirements management, system design, interface management, integration testing, and verification and validation.
• Knowledge of MBSE tools and PLM systems, such as Teamcenter PLM, Cameo, Capella, Genesys, SysML, and DOORS.
• Experience with systems modeling and simulation, configuration management, change control, and technical risk management.
• Must work onsite five days per week in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
