TL;DR
Staff Harness Engineer (Aerospace): Designing and qualifying flight-ready electrical harnesses for space systems from concept through production, with an accent on system-level integration, RF cabling, and industry-standard harness requirements. Focus on defining verification strategies, resolving supplier non-conformances, managing cross-functional risks, and delivering reliable hardware under constrained conditions.

Location: Onsite at the Louisville, Colorado office, with the option to work a few days remotely. Travel up to 10%, domestic or international.

Salary: $126,887–$181,949 USD annual base compensation.

What you will do

  • Design system-level harnesses covering power distribution and high-speed communications.
  • Own the harness design lifecycle from early concept through flight readiness and production.
  • Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, and RF teams on hardware integration.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for wire, cable, connector, and harness suppliers.
  • Resolve supplier non-conformances and provide input on schedules, hardware requirements, and process improvements.
  • Define test plans and verification strategies that meet flight-readiness requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex harnesses across the product lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of PCBA integration, RF cabling and testing, cable assembly design, EMC, and EMI.
  • Experience with harnessing standards such as NASA-STD-8739.4 and IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or another CAD application, Zuken or another harness design tool, and product lifecycle management tools.
  • Must meet U.S. export-control requirements, including U.S. Person status or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
