Python Software Engineers (AI) (Python/JavaScript/TypeScript): Delivering scoped software engineering projects for a leading AI lab, with an accent on debugging, backend and full-stack development, refactoring, migrations, and testing. Focus on navigating complex codebases, validating requirements and outputs, reviewing technical solutions, and identifying edge cases and failure modes.
Location: Remote from Portugal
Compensation: $15–$35 per hour

What you will do
- Debug and resolve issues across complex, multi-file codebases.
- Implement backend and full-stack functionality in production systems.
- Refactor and migrate existing software systems.
- Develop and extend unit and integration test suites.
- Write technical specifications and reference implementations.
- Review code and technical submissions for correctness, quality, and edge cases.
Requirements
- 2–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and professional experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Working knowledge of Java, C#, Go, or another additional programming language.
- Backend or full-stack experience with production systems and testing frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing.
- Experience with code reviews, refactoring, production migrations, and large codebases.
- Advanced professional written English proficiency.
