Forward Deployed Software Engineer (AI) (Full-Stack, Cloud, Enterprise Integrations): Building production-ready customer solutions across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and AI-enabled functionality with an accent on end-to-end delivery, enterprise integration, and software quality. Focus on translating ambiguous business problems into scalable systems, integrating LLM capabilities, and deploying and operating solutions in customer environments.
Location: Hybrid across Cologne, Munich, and Lisbon

What you will do
- Work directly with customers to understand business processes, technical environments, users, and operational challenges.
- Translate ambiguous requirements into implementable solutions and challenge assumptions to identify the right problems to solve.
- Design and build production-ready applications across frontend, backend, APIs, integrations, cloud components, and enterprise systems.
- Develop React and TypeScript interfaces, backend services with Python, FastAPI, .NET, or comparable frameworks, and reliable API or event-driven integrations.
- Integrate AI and LLM capabilities for assistants, search, document processing, workflow automation, and decision support.
- Own delivery from customer discovery through implementation, deployment, operation, continuous improvement, code reviews, and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Several years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- Strong background in full-stack, backend, platform, or cloud engineering with proficiency in Python or .NET/C#.
- Experience developing production APIs, backend services, system integrations, modern frontend applications, and maintainable software architectures.
- Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, cloud deployment, monitoring, logging, security, and production operations.
- Experience with a major cloud platform, preferably Microsoft Azure, and understanding of identity management, networking, scalability, resilience, and cost control.
- Ability to work directly with customers, handle ambiguous requirements, communicate technical trade-offs, and take ownership of delivery outcomes.
Nice to have
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Azure Container Apps, App Service, Functions, Databricks, or enterprise data platforms.
- Experience with asynchronous processing, event-driven or distributed systems, and integration-heavy applications.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI services, conversational interfaces, intelligent search, retrieval-augmented generation, tool calling, or guardrails.
- Experience as a full-stack, backend, platform, cloud, solution, or software architecture professional.
