Senior Data Engineer (AI/ML)

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and platform components for analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases.
• Own complex engineering initiatives from technical design through implementation and rollout.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and production issues across the data platform.
• Improve data models, governance, access patterns, and AI/ML readiness, including feature stores, curated datasets, and streaming access.
• Write tested, documented code and infrastructure as code while maintaining engineering standards.
• Review architecture and code, mentor engineers, and partner with the Director of Data Engineering and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
• Visa sponsorship and takeover of existing work authorization are not available now or in the future.
• Seven or more years of data engineering experience with large-scale, mature data platforms.
• Strong expertise in data pipelines, distributed processing, cloud data platforms, and modern warehouse or lakehouse architectures.
• Proficiency in at least two of Python, Scala, and SQL, plus experience with Snowflake or Databricks and Azure Synapse Analytics or Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, modular notebook-based development, data governance, security, and compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience designing agentic workflows for data engineering.
• Experience with Property & Casualty insurance carriers.
• Experience with Data Vault 2.0 or Ensemble data modeling.
