Senior Data Platform Engineer (Snowflake)

Location: Remote in the USA or Canada

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 USD or $110,000–$120,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Design, evolve, and operate Snowflake account, warehouse, object, and security architecture.
• Implement Snowflake infrastructure, roles, policies, and database changes using Terraform and CI/CD tooling.
• Build and maintain ingestion and integration patterns with Snowpipe, Streams/Tasks, Kafka, Fivetran, Airbyte, and external tables.
• Improve platform reliability, freshness, cost efficiency, and performance through SLOs, monitoring, dashboards, and tuning.
• Integrate Snowflake with identity providers, orchestration, and observability platforms.
• Document architecture and runbooks while enabling Analytics Engineering, Product Engineering, and Data Science consumers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional data platform, data engineering, or data infrastructure experience.
• 3+ years of production-scale Snowflake experience, including RBAC, security features, cost governance, warehouse sizing, and performance tuning.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, plus production Terraform experience.
• Experience with database CI/CD, Snowpipe, Streams/Tasks, Kafka, Fivetran or Airbyte, and AWS networking, IAM, and storage.
• Ability to create technical decision records and runbooks and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the USA or Canada; employment sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• SnowPro Advanced certification and hands-on dbt or modern Analytics Engineering experience.
• Experience with Snowflake Horizon Catalog, Polaris, Collibra, Alation, Iceberg, lakehouse architecture, or data observability tools.
• Experience with streaming and CDC technologies, including Debezium, Snowpipe Streaming, and Dynamic Tables.
• Automotive, financial services, insurance, regulated consumer-data, or AI/ML workload experience.
