Senior Data & Applied AI Engineer (AI)

Location: North America or LATAM; listed location: Raritan, New Jersey, United States of America. Travel of up to 5%, including international travel, is required.

Base pay: $94,000–$151,800 per year.

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines with Databricks, PySpark, SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Azure data services.
• Develop governed data products, analytical datasets, AI-enabled services, and Generative AI solutions.
• Build and operate MLOps capabilities for deployment, monitoring, lineage, governance, and model lifecycle management.
• Develop cloud-native services, microservices, REST APIs, event-driven components, and full-stack applications using technologies such as TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Implement CI/CD, DevOps automation, GitOps, infrastructure as code, security controls, and observability across platforms and applications.
• Lead technical evaluations, architecture and code reviews, troubleshooting, stakeholder collaboration, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• 6+ years of engineering experience delivering enterprise-scale data, AI, analytical, or cloud platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, distributed data processing, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, lakehouse architectures, and Azure cloud data services.
• Experience with applied AI, Generative AI, LLM-enabled applications, MLOps, automated deployment, monitoring, governance, Docker, Kubernetes, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of data quality, metadata, lineage, data contracts, schema evolution, observability, security, governance, testing, and architecture.
• Experience with stakeholder management, mentoring, offshore collaboration, IT finance, SOW management, resource planning, and willingness to travel up to 5%.

Nice to have

• Experience with streaming technologies, event-driven processing, RAG, Agentic AI, prompt engineering, AI evaluation, MLflow, or ZenML.
• Experience with regulated data and AI governance, GitOps using ArgoCD, and observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, or Azure Monitor.
• Experience with TypeScript, React, Node.js, NestJS, Vite, TypeORM, Nx Monorepo, NGINX, and ingress controllers.
• Familiarity with ERP/SAP platforms, enterprise integrations, IoT, edge computing, and industrial data solutions.
