Instructional Systems Designer (National Security)

Location: Remote role associated with Randolph AFB, Texas, USA; occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required.

Salary: $52,900–$108,000 annualized USD

What you will do

• Capture customer training needs with subject-matter experts and recommend appropriate learning solutions.
• Design synchronous, asynchronous, and performance-support tools using the ADDIE model.
• Develop interactive courseware and lesson materials with multimedia specialists, graphic artists, and instructors.
• Recommend multimedia technologies, blended-learning strategies, and learner-centered approaches.
• Collect and analyze training outcomes using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model.
• Provide expertise, mentoring, and leadership while identifying new learning-solution opportunities.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in instructional design or curriculum development.
• Experience coordinating military subject-matter experts and developing instructional content for military clients.
• Experience using MS Word and MS PowerPoint to create lesson guides and instructor-led courseware.
• Ability to develop instructional products with minimal supervision and manage timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance; selected applicants will undergo a security investigation.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice to have

• Experience developing flying-training curricula for military programs, including the Remotely Piloted Aircraft community.
• Experience advising military commands and staff at different levels.
• Experience with commercial off-the-shelf courseware development software and tools.
• Knowledge of learner-centered and competency-based education principles.
• Master’s degree in instructional design, curriculum and instruction, or education; existing Secret clearance.
