Sr. Manager, External Reporting

Location: Deerfield, Illinois, United States — hybrid; flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.

Base salary: $120,000–$192,500 USD annually, plus an annual bonus or role-based sales incentive plan.

What you will do

• Manage annual, quarterly, and other SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, MD&A, financial statement footnotes, and disclosure controls.
• Oversee technical accounting for acquisitions, divestitures, defined benefit plans, share-based compensation, restructuring, EPS, revenue recognition, and impairment testing.
• Review consolidation processes in Oracle FCCS and manage monthly and quarterly reporting activities and internal reporting deliverables.
• Research US GAAP, SEC developments, and new accounting pronouncements; prepare technical accounting memoranda and coordinate implementation.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, internal auditors, actuaries, Investor Relations, and business units.
• Maintain enterprise accounting policies, support strategic projects, and oversee performance reviews and career development for direct reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an active CPA credential.
• 7+ years of accounting experience in external reporting and 5+ years of management experience.
• Technical expertise in US GAAP, SEC reporting, business combinations, pension accounting, intangible assets, revenue recognition, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
• Recent experience researching complex technical accounting matters and preparing technical accounting memoranda for new pronouncements.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, self-direction, adaptability, and ability to learn independently.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Public accounting experience with public company clients.
• Oracle FCCS and/or SAP experience.
