Licensed Counselor (Behavioral Health)

What you will do

• Conduct individual alcohol and drug abuse counseling and group sessions.
• Complete patient intakes, readmissions, assessments, treatment plans, records, referrals, and follow-up counseling.
• Provide crisis intervention, supportive services, and care coordination with community providers.
• Perform OBOT services and help patients prepare for and adjust to drug-free living.
• Orient patients to treatment programs and support program implementation and caseload management.
• Deliver staff training and maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and accrediting requirements.

Requirements

• Human services-related bachelor's or master's degree, as required by the applicable state.
• Current counseling credentials such as LAC, LPC, LCSW, LSW, or PLPC.
• Knowledge of human behavior, substance abuse treatment, treatment planning, and human social services.
• Ability to make sound decisions, handle confidential and sensitive matters, respond effectively in stressful situations, and seek supervisory guidance when needed.
• Compliance with applicable federal and state certification, licensure, and degree requirements.
