Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin)

Location: Hybrid role from London, United Kingdom. Applications are accepted from candidates based in the UK or those with sponsorship to live and work in the UK.

What you will do

• Build services that migrate hirify.global products and functionality onto a shared platform and portal.
• Break down customer problems into executable work and independently deliver high-quality solutions.
• Design new and existing features for enterprise-grade software.
• Communicate technical concepts with engineering, technical communication, support, product, and cloud stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and help raise the team's Kotlin skill level.
• Apply engineering best practices to solve problems and maintain software quality.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience developing enterprise-grade software.
• At least 5 years of experience with current programming languages and tools relevant to the role, including Kotlin, Spring Boot, and AWS.
• Understanding of testing and quality assurance processes.
• Based in the UK, or able to obtain sponsorship to live and work in the UK.
• Associate degree required; a bachelor's degree is preferred, with relevant experience and education considered in combination.
• Strong technical communication, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with performance and load testing.
• Experience using AI-driven coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
• Experience with agile teams, platform migrations, mentoring, or coaching engineers.
• Apple platform experience.
