Software Engineer Backend (AI)

Location: United Kingdom; primarily remote with occasional visits to the Bristol or London office

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Build Agent Studio capabilities for agent configuration, orchestration, testing, deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Develop services for configuration, versioning, state, context, tools, permissions, integrations, and runtime execution.
• Create secure integrations with hirify.global products, enterprise applications, APIs, data sources, and external services.
• Design for scalability, reliability, performance, observability, fault tolerance, authentication, and authorization.
• Collaborate with frontend, AI/ML, UX, product, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to deliver and operate production services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4–7 years of professional software engineering experience developing backend applications and services.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages and associated frameworks.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, databases, distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and production applications.
• Working knowledge of AWS or Azure, automated testing, CI/CD, source control, monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and Agile development skills.
