Forward Deployed Engineer (Generative AI)

Location: San Francisco, California, USA, with offices and coworking arrangements across multiple U.S. markets. Consultants must reside within reasonable commuting distance of a hirify.global office or approved coworking location and work from one at least three days per week; client engagements may require onsite work. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $136,000–$155,000 base salary annually, plus an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Analyze client business needs and translate them into deployable AI solutions.
• Design and implement LLM-based systems, including autonomous agents, RAG pipelines, workflow automation, and conversational interfaces.
• Integrate AI solutions with APIs, databases, business tools, and other heterogeneous systems.
• Deploy, operate, and iterate solutions in cloud environments and production settings.
• Support adoption through training, evangelization, active listening, and continuous improvement.
• Bridge technical teams and business decision-makers while contributing to AI research, offerings, publications, and business development.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent advanced training in computer science, information processing, or a related field.
• Hands-on production experience with LLMs, advanced prompting, RAG, fine-tuning, and agent orchestration.
• Proficiency in Python and applied AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI SDK, or Anthropic SDK.
• Experience with API integration and connecting heterogeneous systems.
• Ability to deploy and operate solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong client-context, teaching, communication, and simplification skills.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to generative AI, agent, and automation research.
• Experience developing training materials, working groups, studies, blogs, or other AI-related publications.
