Controls Intern (Summer 2027) (Automotive)

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support vehicle electrical architecture, including power generation, management, storage, CAN communication, wiring, and connector requirements.
• Research, select, source, and specify sensors, actuators, motors, energy storage systems, controllers, and other vehicle hardware.
• Design wiring harnesses, coordinate harness builds, and communicate mechanical and electrical system requirements.
• Integrate electronic systems into development vehicles, troubleshoot electrical issues, and work with suppliers on performance and timing.
• Process and analyze performance and test data, providing technical insight and feedback for development.
• Develop and support Simulink algorithms, integrate ROS-based autonomy functions, calibrate software, and validate systems in test vehicles.

Requirements

• Pursuing a BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Interest in embedded systems, vehicle electrical systems, controls, software development, and vehicle testing.
• Ability to work at the New Hudson, Michigan location.
