Intern, Software Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Location: Camden, New Jersey, United States; the posting also lists Clifton, New Jersey. Onsite engineering work with a 9/80 schedule, totaling 80 hours over 9 workdays with every other Friday off.

Salary: $29.00–$53.50 per hour in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C., Denver, or NYC areas. Final compensation depends on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis principles to software development.
• Develop and evaluate hardware-software interfaces and operational performance requirements with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Support requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing of embedded software for real-time tactical radio control.
• Create software test procedures, programs, and technical documentation.
• Use modeling tools to establish operating data, conduct experiments, and evaluate results.
• Participate in peer reviews and identify, track, and repair defects.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, wireless engineering, information security, mathematics, digital arts and sciences, or a related field at an accredited university.
• Experience or coursework with one or more relevant programming languages, including C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Qt, or Python.
• Ability to work with Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, or embedded real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, QNX, Integrity, or Windows CE.
• Many positions may require a security clearance; clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
• Conditional employment may require government security investigations, classified-information eligibility, background checks, and pre-employment substance-abuse testing where permitted by law.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of JEE, .NET, Unix, SOA, real-time controls, wireless technologies, software security, robotics, OOA/OOD, Hadoop, Android, or embedded systems.
