Electrical Engineering Internship (Winter/Spring 2027)

Location: On-site in Alameda, California, United States

Salary: $38–$43 per hour

hirify.global develops and manufactures autonomous electric aircraft, including flight-control software, avionics, electric propulsion systems, batteries, and composite airframes.

What you will do

• Support schematic capture and PCB layout for embedded and power electronics systems.
• Assist with component selection and bill-of-materials creation under engineer supervision.
• Assemble, bring up, and test PCBs, hardware fixtures, and aircraft electronics in the lab.
• Run bench tests, collect data, analyze results, and support electrical and embedded-systems debugging.
• Document test procedures, results, and design notes.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Software, and Test teams during integration and testing.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Coursework or project experience in embedded systems, power electronics, motor control, or control systems.
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, or similar electronics lab equipment.
• Exposure to C or C++ through coursework or personal projects.
• Ability to work on-site in Alameda, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with schematic capture or PCB layout tools such as Altium, KiCad, or Eagle.
• Exposure to field-oriented control, PWM, or inverters.
• Hands-on experience from Formula SAE, robotics, drone, solar-car, or similar student teams.
• Strong problem-solving instincts, curiosity, and willingness to ask questions.
