Engineering Test Technician III (Aerospace & Defense)

What you will do

• Perform and oversee advanced troubleshooting, repairs, calibration, and maintenance of complex electronic and mechanical systems.
• Conduct electrical and RF tests, analyze results, and prepare detailed test reports.
• Install equipment and route cabling in system racks, including cable dressing and system assembly.
• Collaborate with engineers on development projects and support system, regression, and integration testing.
• Develop safety protocols and standard operating procedures for technical operations.
• Lead, mentor, and train junior technicians while supporting project execution.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a related field and at least 3 years of technician or related experience; without a degree, at least 5 years of related experience is required.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
• Advanced proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining complex systems.
• Experience using laboratory test equipment, measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, remain on foot for much of the shift, handle small components, work around occasional hazards and loud environments, and travel as required.

Nice to have

• Experience or certifications in aerospace and defense, engineering environments, or development projects.
• Technical leadership experience and familiarity with Linux administration, networking, servers, network storage, and computers.
• RF troubleshooting experience with network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and power meters.
• J-STD soldering or IPC standards certification and experience with regression and integration testing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
