TL;DR
Test Technician III (Aerospace) (electrical and electromechanical spaceflight hardware): Testing electrical and electromechanical assemblies for launch vehicles, rocket engines, and satellite components with an accent on functional, bench, vibration, and environmental testing. Focus on operating testing apparatus, validating performance and quality requirements, and preparing components for spaceflight in demanding production and field environments.

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. A Shift runs Monday–Thursday, 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts may be required.

Hourly pay range: $30–$40 USD per hour in California.

hirify.global builds rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems, including the Electron launch vehicle, Rutherford rocket engine, and Photon satellite platform.

What you will do

  • Perform functional and bench testing of electrical and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Conduct vibration, thermal-environment, and vacuum testing on rocket and satellite components.
  • Test components including radios, space batteries, actuators, network switches, cameras, and transducers.
  • Operate testing apparatus, electrical assembly tools, measuring instruments, chambers, and related equipment.
  • Verify that components meet performance and quality requirements for spaceflight acceptance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in electronic component assembly, preferably in aerospace.
  • Experience with electrical assembly tools, bench testing, and measuring instruments.
  • Experience with vibration tables, thermal-environment chambers, and vacuum chambers.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • For U.S. office roles, eligibility to meet U.S. ITAR requirements is required: U.S. citizenship, lawful U.S. permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
  • Ability to work onsite, stand and walk for 8+ hours, work at heights and in tight spaces, and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lb.

Nice to have

  • Experience with in-space electrical assemblies and LabVIEW.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and continued product development.
  • Experience with Linux, anechoic chambers, or TVAC chambers.
  • Industry or trade certification, strong time management, and a careful, methodical work ethic.
